OKX vs MEXC: MEXC is cheaper on paper, here is the honest math

OKX vs MEXC BTC/USDT perpetual futures maker and taker fees, read 2026-09-04

Chart built directly from the fee-rates.json data used in the table below, read 2026-09-04.

These are two exchanges ReturnFee earns a commission from that this page names. MEXC's own fee schedule beats OKX's on both maker and taker at this tier, by a wide margin. Say it straight before any rebate talk: on raw fees alone, MEXC wins.

OKX0.020%0.050%2026-09-04
MEXC0.000%0.020%2026-09-05

OKX read from its own published fee-schedule page, verified 2026-09-04: okx.com/help/how-to-calculate-the-contract-transaction-fee. MEXC pulled live from its own contract API on 2026-09-05: contract.mexc.com/api/v1/contract/detail. Machine-readable source: data/fee-rates.json in this site's own repo.

What that costs in money, not percentage

Taker fee, the honest default for anyone acting on a signal rather than sitting on the book, at two volumes, fee = volume × taker rate:

$100,000 traded in a month:

$500,000 traded in a month:

MEXC's taker fee is 60% lower than OKX's at this tier. MEXC's maker fee is zero: no fee, so no rebate is possible on maker fills there, there is nothing to return a share of.

Where the rebate stands on each

ReturnFee has a live referral link for both. On top of OKX's own automatic 20%, ReturnFee pays an additional share out of its own commission, for a member total of 60% back on OKX, payout running live today. MEXC's own automatic 20% plus ReturnFee's added share totals 50% back on MEXC on paper, but that payout is manual on request rather than daily automatic the way Bitget's is, see mexc-cashback for the current status before counting on it.

Net cost, OKX with its live 60% rebate applied, MEXC on its raw published fee since its own added rebate is manual on request:

Even with OKX's automatic rebate applied and MEXC given none, the two land at the same net number at this tier. If MEXC's own added rebate is automated, MEXC becomes the cheaper net option outright. This page updates when that happens rather than keeping the old figure.

Which is cheaper for which trader

Neither number accounts for liquidity, slippage, VIP tiers, or token fee discounts, see the full six-exchange comparison for that context: exchange-fee-comparison.
